How to See Who Viewed Your TikTok Profile and Videos

TikTok’s profile view and post view history features explained: who can use them, how long views are kept, how to turn them off and what you’ll never see.

“Who’s been looking at my TikTok?” is one of the most searched questions about the app. The short answer is that TikTok shows you some viewers, some of the time, under specific conditions. It does not give you a complete list of everyone who watched.

This guide explains how to see who viewed your TikTok profile with profile view history, how post view history works for videos, who can use these features, how to turn them off, and what TikTok deliberately keeps hidden. Features and eligibility rules change, and they can differ by region, so check the settings in your own app as you read.

Can you see who viewed your TikTok?

Partly. TikTok’s profile view history can show accounts that visited your profile in the past 30 days, and post view history, where available, can show some accounts that watched your videos. Both only include people who also have the feature turned on.

That mutual opt-in is the key point. If a viewer has the setting off, their visit doesn’t appear for you, and if you have it off, you can’t see anyone. So even with both features on, you’ll see a subset of viewers, not everyone.

What you can always see is the total view count on each video, plus aggregate numbers in analytics. Those tell you how many people watched, without telling you who.

How to turn on TikTok profile view history

Go to Profile → Menu (☰) → Settings and privacy → Privacy → Profile views and switch on Profile view history. You can also tap the eye-style icon at the top of your profile, if your app shows one.

  1. Tap Profile.
  2. Tap the menu icon (three lines).
  3. Open Settings and privacy, then Privacy.
  4. Tap Profile views.
  5. Switch on Profile view history.

Once it’s on, recent profile visitors who also have the setting on appear in a list, usually reachable from the eye icon on your profile. Visits from the past 30 days are shown. Anything older drops off.

Remember that this works both ways. With profile view history on, eligible people whose profiles you visit can see that you viewed them too.

Who can use TikTok profile view history?

Not everyone. TikTok limits profile view history by age and account size, so if you don’t see the setting, you may simply not qualify.

The conditions widely reported at the time of writing are:

  • Age. The account holder must be 16 or older.
  • Follower count. Accounts with a large following, commonly reported as 5,000 followers or more, don’t get the feature.
  • Mutual setting. Only viewers who also have the feature on are shown.
  • Time window. Only views from the last 30 days are listed.

TikTok can adjust these thresholds and roll features out by region, so treat the numbers as a guide and check TikTok’s help center or your in-app settings for the current rules. If you can’t find the option, update the app first.

What is TikTok post view history?

Post view history lets eligible users see some accounts that watched their videos. Like profile views, it only shows viewers who also have the setting on, and it covers a limited recent period.

Where available, you’ll find it under Settings and privacy → Privacy → Post views. Reports on the feature describe these limits:

  • It’s off by default and mutual; you only see viewers who also opted in, and they can see when you view theirs.
  • Views are only listed for a short window after posting, reported as about seven days.
  • Eligibility rules similar to profile view history apply, and availability varies by region.

TikTok has trialled and changed this feature over time, and it isn’t offered on every account. If the Post views option doesn’t appear in your Privacy settings, it isn’t currently available to you.

How to turn off profile and post view history

Open Settings and privacy → Privacy, tap Profile views (or Post views) and switch the toggle off. Others will no longer see your visits, and you’ll no longer see theirs.

Reasons people turn it off:

  • You want to browse profiles without leaving a trace.
  • You’re researching competitors or creators in your niche.
  • You find the list distracting or stressful.

You can switch it back on at any time from the same screen, and the list will start filling again with eligible visitors who also have the setting on. Turning view history off is a normal privacy choice, and nobody is told that you changed it. What you can’t see on TikTok

TikTok doesn’t show a full list of everyone who watched your videos, who viewed your LIVE replays, who shared your posts privately, or who blocked you.

QuestionCan you see it?
Total views on a videoYes, on every post
Every individual who watched a videoNo; at most a partial list via post view history
Who visited your profilePartly, via profile view history if both sides opted in
Who liked or commentedYes, in the likes and comments lists
Who shared your video in DMsNo; you see share counts only
Who is watching your LIVE right nowYes, in the viewer list during the LIVE
Who blocked youNo

Be wary of third-party apps or websites promising to reveal “who stalks your TikTok”. They can’t access data TikTok doesn’t share, and some ask for your login, which puts your account at risk. Never give your TikTok password to a third-party site.

Use analytics to understand your viewers instead

If your goal is growth, aggregate analytics are more useful than names. TikTok’s analytics show reach, watch time, traffic sources and audience patterns for each video.

Questions analytics can answer that a viewer list can’t:

  • Where did viewers find this video: For You, Following, search or your profile?
  • How long did people watch before scrolling?
  • Which countries and age ranges are watching?
  • When is your audience most active?

Use the answers to improve your next post. Our guides on why your TikTok views are low and the best time to post on TikTok show how to act on what you find. On LIVE, the viewer list does show who’s in the room, and interactive formats such as Nitro Race, where each commenter appears on screen, give you a natural way to greet them by name.

Frequently asked questions

Can you see who views your TikTok videos?

Only partly. Post view history, where available, shows some viewers who also have the setting on, for a short period after posting. TikTok does not show a complete list of everyone who watched.

Does TikTok tell people you viewed their profile?

Only if you both have profile view history turned on and meet the eligibility rules. If you turn the setting off, your visits are not shown to others.

Why can’t I see profile view history on TikTok?

You may not be eligible because of your age or follower count, the feature may not be available in your region, or your app may need updating.

How long does TikTok keep profile view history?

Profile view history shows visits from the last 30 days. Older visits are no longer listed.

Can I see who viewed my TikTok if their setting is off?

No. Views are only shown when both you and the viewer have the setting turned on.

Are apps that show who viewed your TikTok safe?

Be cautious. Third-party apps cannot access viewer data TikTok does not share, and apps that ask for your TikTok password put your account at risk.

Can you see who viewed your TikTok LIVE?

During a LIVE you can see the current viewer list. TikTok does not provide a full list of everyone who watched a LIVE after it ends, though LIVE analytics show totals.
